Mighty East Bengal face Kalighat MS in the run towards CFL title
Friday, August 24, 2012 Report By Mainak Chakraborty
East Bengal will face Kalighat Milan Sangha in their second Kolkata League fixture at the Saltlake Stadium in Kolkata. The mighty Red and Gold brigade are in terrific form after their superb start to their season against Eastern Railway and will definately hope to keep their winning form intact.
Now let us analyze both the teams one by one. Kalighat M.S. are currently topping the group with both wins out of both matches drubbing Eastern Railway by 3-0 at Khardah Stadium and George Telegraph by 4-0 at Gayeshpur Stadium. They are a new side with great youth talent and with some experienced players on the side. The blender of youth and veteran gave 100% winning record in KFL for Kalighat Milan Sangha but it may very well get vanished tomorrow in front of the Champions. Inexperience at big levels and lack of pre-season attachments are the main factors for these teams in Kolkata Football League.
Now coming to the champions, there is very much positives to say for them. East Bengal started their season with a 5 goal thrashing to Eastern Railway SC. Starting from Goalkeeper to Striking zone, the Red and Gold brigade looked mightily strong and prepared for all their matches. Chiddi, Baljit and company are slowly getting their grips on the game as each game passes by. Big news is the inclusion of East Bengal’s Okpara at the heart of the defense and also Penn at the very sensitive zone in midfield. Gurpreet Singh Sandhu will start for the Champions under the bars tomorrow. Young Saikat Saha Roy will start at Right Back because Naoba is still nursing injury. Experienced Okpara and Arnab Mondal will form the great wall for East Bengal at the defense. Soumik Dey will fill the left back position making the 4 man defense line for the Red and Gold brigade. Vashum, Penn, Khabra and Ishfaq will start in midfield with Penn in more withdrawl position behind striker. The inclusion of Penn will definitely boost up the attacking line up for East Bengal and they will be hungrier for goals. Baljit and Chiddi will have the responsibilities for making the scoreline perfect for the Red and Gold brigade as they will be Morgan’s trusted choice in the attacking third. Together its very easy to say that East Bengal can have a cake walk in this game with their great and experienced line up but the game is played for 90 minutes in the field. So we have to wait and see how the Red and Gold brigade performs. Morgan clearly stated that East Bengal will go all out for a win regardless of the scoreline and will have newer strategies to experiment before the Federation Cup. The match will start from 2:45pm IST at the Saltlake Stadium.
