




I-League’s Best Indian Midfielder Mehtab Hussain set for Trials in English Leagues

East Bengal and India’s Midfield Maestro Mehtab is on the way to England to try his Luck in English 3rd & 4th Division Clubs, Thanks to Alan Gow For Successful Arrangement of Trials.
After some outstanding performances for the 2003 LG ASEAN Cup champions East Bengal, midfield maestro Mehtab Hussain is now eyeing up for a dream English League move as former East Bengal attacker Alan Gow has successfully arranged him to have practice sessions and trials in some English Football League one (3rd division) and League Two (4th division) clubs. Alan Gow, who had an average season with East Bengal last year and was replaced by Brazilian striker Edmilson Marques Pardal in the mid-season, now plays for League Two club, Exeter City FC. According to local sources, Alan Gow has mailed Mehtab Hussain about successful arrangements of his trials in some English 3rd and 4th division clubs including his current club, Exeter City FC.
If there’s no Visa issues, Mehtab, who will turn 27 in this September, will be leaving for England on 30th June. After bagging the best midfielder tag in the 2010-11 I-League season, Mehtab Hussain was eyeing for testing himself in foreign clubs too, heartiest thanks to ex-East Bengal teammate Alan Gow that his dream has finally come true.
The practice of East Bengal senior team is likely to start from 10th July. Mehtab has already taken permission from club officials for giving trials in England and has told that his arrival date in Kolkata may defer to 14th July if he gets chance to give trials in League One clubs.
