Real POWER's appeal to the Club for our own Mascot

EAST BENGAL the Real POWER has appealed to our Mother Club and have sent a mail to the Club's official mail ID to come up with a Mascot of its own. All the prominent clubs in the world have their own mascots as integral parts of their identity but we do not have any such mascots of our own. We have given a letter to our mother club with a suggestion of two mascots 1) Lion & 2) Phoenix.

Lion is the king of the Jungle and East Bengal is the “King of Indian Football”. We always think that East Bengal should be associated with the best and nothing short of it and the Lion, being the King, should be the first choice. Next is Phoenix, a bird which epitomizes resurrection from ashes, a bird which never dies, which shows a 'never to be beaten' attitude.

The appeal letter which has been written to our mother club is enclosed for all to see and we also give sample pictures which we have thought off just to show which way we are thinking. Once again we reiterate that the pictures given are just Sample and it is for the club to decide what mascot they would choose or whether they want any mascot at all. We can only give our suggestion to the club since they are taking so many good steps like bringing our own Bus, introducing the players in a novel and unique way, and so many other new innovative ideas which is creating waves among football lovers.

We, the supporters are with the club as always and this is just a way to show that we always think for the club. We would be really glad if the club thinks of a mascot which we can hold on to our hands and keep them in our home, share among friends, gift to the like minded and be proud of it all our life long.

From Real POWER perspective, we would prefer to have the Lion as our mascot which epitomizes the “Best as the King”, but, we live it to our club to choose what mascot they would want and ultimately its the club's decision which we would definitely respect.

Subject: - Appeal for forming a mascot for East Bengal Club.

Respected Sir,

We have observed that all the prominent clubs in the world have their own mascots as integral parts of their identity but we do not have any such mascots of our own. Even our arch rivals unveiled their mascot Tiger (Baghu) 2 years back.

In this context, we have thought of two options:-

1) ‘Lion’ as our mascot and are proposing the same to you since Lion is the King of the jungle and we think our club, East Bengal, is the king of all the football clubs in India. We cannot think of anything else other than the best and there is nobody superior than the King himself. We also have thought of two names of our mascot ‘Goldie’ (Red and Gold) or ‘Lionel’. We have thought of an image of our mascot, the Lion standing with the torch in one hand and one leg resting on the football.
The next option

2) Phoenix Bird – the bird which resurrect from the ashes. It epitomizes struggle and its win over struggle. East Bengal was born due to unjust behavior of some people and it almost came from nowhere like a revolutionary.

These are just an appeal from us to our club and the club can think of any other mascot and any other name as it thinks best but we believe that a club having a golden history of 92 years and so much of achievement, should have the best as its mascot and it is high time that we think about it since we have performed well last season and have built a strong team this season which have set expectation among the club supporters that our team would do even better this season.

Sir, we always think about our mother club and how it can make its name among the best in the world. You have already made waves by thinking about the club ‘Bus’, by bringing innovation in presenting the footballers and introducing them and there are many innovative ideas which is truly giving East Bengal and edge on others. Why not take another small step in getting our own Mascot and have a new product to market and add it to the club merchandise. Any true East Bengal fan would love to have the club Mascot in his home and show off the ‘King of the Football’ to his friends and family.

We would be delighted if the club takes an action towards it and chooses a mascot for itself in a short time. If the club wishes, we can send few drawing samples to the club for its review.
