A fantastic day celebrated by EBRP and its members

Sunday, July 15, 2012 Report by Sandipan Chakraborty

On the Sunday morning of July 15, 2012, the sun rose to initiate a day which had joy and excitement written all over it. It was the day when the Real POWER Royal Juniors were supposed to take on the Real POWER Super Seniors. Being the current champions from the last match the Royal Juniors were firm favorites to walk away with the glory. But, on the other hand stood the all experienced line ups of the Super Seniors, fallen with past defeat, they were ready to accept any challenge with the Juniors threw to them.

Stepping aside from the match for a little, the day was an amazing one for Real POWER. Real POWER members came in huge numbers to get themselves involved with the event. 118 Real POWER members came to watch and participate in the match. Never before an event of Real POWER received such a huge response from its members!

Due to the huge number of Real POWER junior members willing to participate in the match up, a special selection criterion was made. The Juniors were divided into eight teams containing 12 players each, 8 of them making the starting team and the rest of the 4 were reserves. After four matches amongst the Juniors, the best 12 players were chosen from the rest and were then formed the ultimate Royal Juniors who would be taking on the Super Seniors.

The main event started. The Juniors showed their flexibility and agility on the field, but the Seniors showed their experience and their determined attitude to take on the Juniors. The match headed into the tie-breaker, where the Royal Juniors beat the Super Seniors 3-2. A match which was termed to be a cake walk turned out to be a very tough encounter.

Although due to the rules of the game we had to decide a winner, but every Real POWER member was the winner at the end of the day.

Wait! the day was still not over yet. After the completion of the match it was the time for the afternoon feast. The menu of which was :

    Rice
    Potato Chips
    Dal
    Chicken Curry
    Chutney

Some of the members had to leave because of long distance, but still 83 Real POWER members were involved in the very enjoyable feast. After finishing with the meal it was then the time everyone hated. The time arrived for everyone to end the awesome entertainment and fun. But, an end always indicates another start. Real POWER always has promised to bring this starts in a more Gala way to its members. We promise that on November 15th, the birthday of Real POWER and on Bijoya Doshomi we will be organizing a much more larger event for our members.

Before ending this article Real POWER wants to give a special thanks to Chandrima Das and Alokananda Das who were present in this event as Real POWER’s female members. It was also our pleasure to welcome the juniormost member of Real POWER Rohan Paul in the event. We also thank him for his involvement.

Now, for the most important part. None of this would have been possible if we did not have someone amongst ourselves who would step forward and carry on the expenses for organizing such a wonderful meet. This event would not have been possible without Mr Arnab Bannerjee , Mr Saikat Biswas Mr Suman Sengupta and Mr. Raja Basu, whose contribution to this event was huge. This event was a product of the involvement of all the members of Real POWER both Seniors and Juniors and we would not like to individually thank anyone by their names. This was a team effort and we were successful as everyone worked as a team for the good cause of Real POWER. This is an achievement for Real POWER as a whole and we are confident that we will be able to take on these successes in the future.

Here is the event organizing cost :

    Rent for the playing field : Rs 500/-

    Lime for playing ground markings: Rs 186/-

    First Aid: Rs 245/-

    Banner: 850/-

    Lunch Room Rent: Rs 1,000/-

    Chicken: Rs 130/- per kg x 22 kg = Rs 2860/-

    Rice: Rs 34 per kg x 15 kg = Rs 510/-
