After a few more hours East Bengal will take on Mohun Bagan in a prestigious derby of Kolkata. For last few days nothing prevailed over the Bengali psyche than this encounter. The hype associated with this match along with the temperamental outburst that is part and parcel of a derby has put Kolkata on the top of a volcano with the hot lava of emotions pent up inside and waiting for an outlet to blast out.
Here, We EAST BENGAL the Real POWER Fans appeal to you to keep in mind that it is after all a game and please take it as a game only. We appeal to all of our fans and our opponent fans also that please enjoy the match but enjoy in a sensible way. Do not let yourself get carried away by the provocations of a few miscreants and please maintain the sanity of the game.
Last season we had appealed to IFA to maintain order and peace but this year as IFA is not organizing this match we appeal direct to the fans. Go to the ground, enjoy the game, cheer for your beloved team and come home safely. We know that irreparable loss to human lives has occurred in the past due to the madness of a moment, please do not repeat the mistake.
We Real POWER fans pray to the almighty for the safety and security of all the football lovers of Kolkata .
Real POWER asks the IFA for the Fans Safety

We all know that Indian football fans are gearing up for another big derby on Saturday between the two giants of Indian football. East Bengal and Mohun Bagan will face each other yet another time in the Kolkata Derby in front of a huge gathering of one lakh supporters. But the question that is arising is that are we really safe when we go and watch the match at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan. The derby is one the most prestigious game of Indian football and is regarded as the advertisement of the game in the country for a long time. It’s the face of Indian football in other words. No other match in Indian football attracts such a countless number of supporters. But in the recent derbies we have seen some uncanny incidents that are happening in and also outside the field. Bombs blasting in hand, litting fire to opponent team’s flag, throwing glass bottles at their opponent supporters, unnecessarily involving in stupid quarrels have become a natural scene at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan in context with the latest derbies. Some had to cost their lives, some were seriously injures, some had to sacrifice their body parts due to these incidents. But is this the way to celebrate such a huge occasion? We know that football is a game of two teams and at the end of the day there is a winner or a looser but we have to accept that sportingly rather than creating those absurd scenes that creates a bad image for football in the country. Many people have stopped coming in the derby in fear of their lives.
So, EAST BENGAL the Real POWER came up with an innovative idea just a few days before the derby. We are in favour of a clean and fair game and we do not want these things to happen. We are all fans of certain football clubs , may be its East Bengal or may be its Mohun Bagan, but we donot want these bad incidents to happen further which could worsen the football atmosphere. Security of people is on the verge of questioning as Police forces failed to tackle these problems time and time again. So , We, EAST BENGAL the Real POWER Fans Club went to IFA office to meet with the IFA supremo Utpal Ganguly and gave him a letter regarding this issue. We urged to each and every football fans of the derby that they should go to the stadium with a fair and pleasant mind and celebrate in a nice manner. We support fair play and that should happen in the field. Many a times we have seen that bad refereeing decision results in a mass abrupt in the stadium which should be controlled in a peaceful way and for that to happen we need to tighten the security forces. So our REAL Power correspondents went to the IFA office and handed t he letter to Mr. Utpal Ganguly. He had a long time chat with our members as they all told about these problems in detail. Mr. Ganguly gave us the words that he will surely look into these issues and will tighten the security forces more. He further added that this was the first time in his life that he have seen a fans club come up with this important issue and he is really happy about that.
We, EAST BENGAL the Real POWER Fans Club appeal to each and every football fans to come and watch the derby in a peaceful manner. One should enjoy and preserve the prestige of this game.
