“EAST BENGAL the Real POWER (EBRP)” accompanied Team East Bengal during their roller coaster ride in their recent international campaign, the 2011 BECAMEX IDC Cup at Vietnam, telecasting live pictures of the team’s three group league matches, straight from the Bing Doung Stadium at Ho Chi Minh City.

East Bengal was playing a première international club tournament after a long time and the quality of competition was highlighted by top teams from Brazil, Uganda, Slovakia and Vietnam’s champion clubs. When the Red and Gold brigade were all set to trigger their BECAMEX IDC Cup campaign, millions of our supporters at all corners of the globe were disheartened that there was no Live Telecast or Live Streaming of the matches of their dear team.

In this scenario, by telecasting live feed for the tournament in Vietnam, Real POWER has modified the definition of a fan club in our country, yet again!!! All the matches of our team plus other select matches were shown LIVE ONLY on the EBRP TV Website and delighted our millions of fans across the globe. This is not only a seminal achievement of a Fan club in India but there are hardly such examples of fan clubs across the globe showing official matches live.

This was a sea change from before, when supporters used to scout the internet to get a few sites providing broken “live updates” after a gap of 10-15 minutes. It was a dream come true for Tens of thousands of East Bengal supporters (initially disappointed after a barren search of match telecast) to get such live action of their favorite team against foreign outfits of international repute . According to our statistics, over 35,000 die hard Red and Gold supporters tuned into EBRP TV installed at the official site of Real POWER and heartily enjoyed their home team in action.

EAST BENGAL the Real POWER is an extremely passionate group of people trying to implement latest ideas and bring in a global vision for the club and its supporters. However we are also constrained on many fronts especially financially. The cost of buying a high quality dedicated server to telecast such matches is approx. INR 2 Lakhs / month which is not feasible presently, as EBRP is not a professional body but a group of members providing the cost of maintenance from their own pockets. As a result, we were unable to push our limits more than sharing a server. We apologize for the quality of live streaming of some of the matches. However, it is our vision to come up with a much better quality of EBRP TV with more resources in the future, both manpower and monetary.

EBRP feels proud to have constructive and powerful feedback from supporters as far fetched as Europe and the States. Suman Sengupta, a die hard East Bengal Fans & EBRP member from Copenhagen, Denmark was overwhelmed with emotion for the live match telecast provided by EBRP TV at EBRP.in. Likewise Dhrubajyoti Ghosh, from Madrid, Spain gave his kudos and feedback on how EBRP could go to the next level. Sabyasachi Gupta, from Dubai, UAE and Raja Bose from Kolkata also shared their thanks and encouragement. Many other passionate fans from all over the globe like Nalinava Sengupta from Oslo Norway, Anirban Ash Ceske Budejovice, Czeck and Prithwiraj Deb from New York, US also sent their greetings. Likewise many other fans have continuously wished us in the last few days on this sterling achievement. Real POWER thank them all!!!"

On the playing front, EAST BENGAL finished their BECAMEX IDC Cup campaign on a disappointing note with just one point from three group matches. However they showed flair in their games and threw away 3 more possible points by conceding last minute goals in 2 of their matches. Nonetheless, the countdown for the Super Cup has started. Can the red and gold brigade take revenge of their Federation Cup defeat against Salgaocar?
