EBRP took active participation in celebration of Sports Day

“EAST BENGAL the Real POWER” - the fan club close to the heart of entire East Bengal community made their presence felt on the occasion of “SPORTS DAY” at the Club Tent. 13th August, 2011 was the 72nd birthday of the man who gave the club an entire new look, new vision – Late Sri Deepak Das, famous as “Paltu Das”.
Like last few days it was another “rainy day”, city almost washed out by the heavy rainfall since morning. E.B.R.P members gathered at the club tent around 11’o clock in the morning. Entire club lawn was covered with the Red & Gold “Shamiana” which made it look special. At first with the garland and flowers E.B.R.P paid tribute to late Sri Deepak Das. Thereafter the E.B.R.P members took active participation in the traditional “Blood Donation” camp. All the “donors” were honored with “EAST BENGAL RAKHEE” as a celebration of “RAKSHA BANDHAN” along with “RED and GOLD ROSES”. Mr. Kalyan Chakraborty, Mr. Prosenjit Sil, Mr. Madan Chakraborty, Mr. Pradip Debnath, Mr. Samik Banerjee, Mr. Avijit Ghosh were the proud members who donated the blood on the great day. All the donors were awarded with the certificates from “EAST BENGAL CLUB”, “STATE BLOOD TRANSFUSION COUNCIL WEST BENGAL” and “ASSOCIATION OF VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONORS WEST BENGAL”. Mr. Trevor James Morgan, Mr. Tolgay Ozebe, Mr. Alvito D’Cunha, Mr. Abhra Mondal, Mr. Alok Das , Mr. Manoranjan Bhattacharya, our honorable sports minister of West Bengal, “Sri Madan Mitra” and many others were present to the occasion and encouraged the donors and others relates to this entire function. After the blood donation the donors were helped with a healthy and delicious food packet.
In the evening there was a different mood. Sportspersons from different fields were felicitated on the East Bengal Sports Day. Ex-India International & former East Bengal footballer and a renowned coach “Mr.Shabbir Ali” Archer “Ms.Dola Banerjee’ and “Mr.Rahul Banerjee”, Mountaineer “Mr.Rajiv Bhattacharya” and “Dipankar Ghosh” were felicitated for their great achievements. Young and upcoming footballers were encouraged with kits and footballs.
After all these great events an official fan club called as “East Bengal Tigers On field” was launched in presence of the respected club officials.
Overall its was great day to remember and reminded the fact again, “THREE CHEERS FOR EAST BENGAL”, HIP HIP HURRAY!!!!
