A very popular, renowned and leading Bengali News Paper “Aajkaal” published EBRP’s activities in their sports section today.

In the report they mentioned briefly how Real POWER started its journey and how EAST BENGAL the Real POWER has brought all the East Bengal fans spreaded all over the world together.

The report started with the Fan’s Derby at Foster City, USA where Real POWER members organized a match and whose excitement was experience by every East Bengal and Mohun Bagan fans all over the World. A few NRI’s who supports East Bengal and Mohun Bagan participated in the duel. The match ended with a thrashing of 7-1 by East Bengal to Mohun Bagan.

The report further stated that all these Endeavour were taken by the members of Real POWER, the Fan based organization of East Bengal Club. From USA to Norway, Bangalore to Czech Republic, Real POWER has spread its wings everywhere. It was mainly possible through two online social network sites “Orkut” and “Facebook”. At present EAST BENGAL the Real POWER has more than 20,000 members.

The Founder Member of EAST BENGAL the Real POWER is Rabi Shankar Sen. Real POWER started his journey on 15th November 2006. At the beginning discussions were held through its online community. Then the community members met each other for the first time at City Centre on 14th January 2007. This is the way EAST BENGAL the Real POWER came into reality.

On 30th December 2007, EAST BENGAL the Real POWER first organized a Fan’s Derby match, a unique idea in Indian Football. In that derby, EAST BENGAL the Real POWER won via a tie breaker.

EAST BENGAL the Real POWER’s activities are not tied to playing football in India or abroad, not only they discuss about football and cheer for East Bengal but EAST BENGAL the Real POWER brought revolution in the Indian Football fraternity by launching www.eastbengaltherealpower.com. This website gives minutes to minutes live update of East Bengal’s matches. Fans across the world get all the news and information through this website. Match Preview, Analysis, Interviews of Players, Match Review, Match Report, Statistical Analysis of East Bengal team are regularly updated at the site. Not only these, but Real POWER members also arrange videos of the important match moments on You Tube.

EAST BENGAL the Real POWER has organized a Blood Donation Camp in association with a NGO, "Manashi"  in the past and has also arranged Medical camps for Children at Sodepur. Real POWER Members always keeps themselves attached with the club. From playing important role in felicitation of 1970 IFA Shield Team to giving Gifts to the Ground Staffs at Puja,  from arranging Rakhi for the Players in Raksha Bandhan to arranging Picnic, Real POWER always engages itself in constructive development and welfare of the football culture and society.

According to Rabi Shankar Sen, “EAST BENGAL the Real POWER is like a family, our member is increasing day by day. East Bengal Fans can become the member. Membership is only Rs.300/-.” When asked to Mr. Sen about how and why this idea came to his mind, he said “From 2000 to 2004 I was in Bangalore. At that time I found it difficult to get news of East Bengal. Though the result was available but the details were never available. So I was always upset about the fact that East Bengal, which is the Top Club of Indian Football with so many fans located across the globe was not able to diffuse information about its matches to the public. Nobody could get the details about East Bengal then. So it came to my mind and thus EAST BENGAL the Real POWER website was launched.”

In another question, Rabi Shankar Sen answered that at abroad; maximum fans are based in USA. But there are lots of fans in Russia, Australia, Germany and England. In India other than Kolkata; Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi also have lots of East Bengal fans.

Rabi Shankar Sen also informed that in future EAST BENGAL the Real POWER has a plan to publish a Magazine on East Bengal Club. They are also planning for a theme song which will be played before every East Bengal Match.
