Historic ASEAN Cup Win Reaches 7 Year Mark Monday, July 26, 2010, Report by Mainak ChakrabortySeven years back, this day marked one of the greatest and the most remarkable achievement made by an Indian Football Club on foreign soil. East Bengal Football Club defeated the AFC Champions League winner of that time BEC Tero Sasana convincingly to grab the ASEAN Cup in Jakarta. This was the first victory by an Indian club at Asian level competition. This historic achievement reaches its 7th birthday today. Last Year EAST BENGAL the Real POWER celebrated 6th Year of ASEAN win in Puri with all the players and officials when they were having a pre season camp. We also celebrated the 5th year of this beautiful win in the East Bengal club tent with all the players and staffs and official. Although seven long year’s have past but the day is still remembered by every East Bengal fan throughout the world. Red and Gold maestro Bhaichung Bhutia and Club Brand Ambassador Alvito D Cunha were part of this great achievement who are still there. It is the most prestigious achievement made by a club of India on foreign soil and every fan can celebrate this day still today because of the fact that this achievement is our pride and we live by that. The face of Indian football club got to high level after this win and the foreign clubs came to know more about the Indian clubs. East Bengal ruled the headlines of every big newspaper not only in India but also in foreign newspaper. We urge to each and every fan of East Bengal to celebrate this historic day as u want to.
