EBRP donates for the Thalassemia patients

EBRP was the associate sponsor along with Ambuja Cement in the Sub junior eight teams’ nursery football tournament. VIP sangha (6 no. rail gate) hosted the entire tournament for the spectators. A nursery football tournament will be held dedicated to Thalassemia patients and the late actor Kunal Mitra. The main attraction was the exhibition match between East Bengal and Mohun Bagan which was be represented by ex East Bengal and Mohun Bagan players along with present Bengali tele serial actors.
Union Minister of State for Urban Development Saugata Roy and MLA from East Belgachia (DumDum) Sujit Bose were present in this beautiful occasion and they inaugurated the Tournament.
The inauguration took place at 3pm at the Bishar para jubo samaj maidan (6 no. rail gate), Birati. After the inauguration by these special guests, the 8 team nursery football tournament kicked off. The eight teams were namely :- Dutta Coaching Centre (Madhyamgram), Nabanagar Football Coaching Centre (Birati), Welcome Association (Airport), Kaikhali Yubak Sangha, Janakalyan Unnayan Samity (Birati), Nabanagar Yuba Sangha, Muragacha Coaching Centre (Sodepur) and Bengal Badshah. The four teams that qualified for the semi final were given rest and then the exhibition match took place. EBRP gave the winners and runners trophies and also a man of the match trophy in every match.
The exhibition match was kicked off in front of a full house where Sanjoy Majhi was the East Bengal captain. Sanjoy Majhi, Bolai Mukherjee, Arpan Dey, Kartik Seth, Swarup Das, Tushar Rakshit, Alok Mukherjee and many others participated in this exhibition match. Known faces like Lolita and Ishan form Star Jalsha serial Ogo Bondhu sundari, Mouri and Nikhil for Bou kotha kou, Koushik and Rupanjana from Behula, Bhaskar Banerjee from the serial Nayak, Tabun munshi from the serial Kurukshetra, Indian Idol participant Puja Chatterjee, Suman Banerjee were also present in this match. Soham, the Bengali cinema actor gave the 5000 rupees to the Thalassemia patients and then this match was kicked off. Before the match, the celebrities circled the entire field for the fans and waived their hands. The match reflected another Red and Gold dominance over the Maroon and the Green. The duo of Alok Mukherjee and Tushar Rakshit failed to deliver for Mohun Bagan and they were totally ousted by a superb football Sanjay Majhi’s East Bengal. Sanjay Majhi scored two goals as he used to in early days with his familiar Red and Gold jersey and also set up another for Bolai Mukherjee. The score of the game was a comfortable 3-0 victory for the Red and Gold brigade. After that, the sub junior all Bengal tournaments continued with the Bengal Badshah and Janakalyan Unnayan Samity reaching the final.
Janakalyan Unnayan Samity defeated the Bengal Badshah’s in the final with a solitary goal and they were the champions. The winner’s trophy was sponsored by EBRP and Rs 2001 was also awarded to the winning team. The runners up Bengal Badshah were awarded the runners up trophy EBRP and also Rs 1001 was given to them.
