A Brief History

Veni,vidi, vici- I came, I saw, and I conquered. The saying of the great warrior from Greece truly suits with the evolution of the EAST BENGAL the Real POWER soccer fan club.

This soccer fan club came into being on November 15, 2006. Some die-Hard East Bengal Fans was the main architect behind designing the EAST BENGAL the Real POWER (EBRP) pan-India and pan-world fan club. They visualized the dream of bringing in all the fans of East Bengal Club on a single domain.

Objective:

The objective was very clear and conveyed to all of its valuable members. It was built with an obvious objective and that was to extend all the solidarity to the historic club and its footballers, so that the level of sporting morale could be on ever rising momentum. The objective seems to be materializing.

How came the idea?

Real Life Community has been the first football community in India, which got itself registered as Fans Club in Indian Football. EBRP just followed the toe of this enormous fan club and got itself registered as well. Now, it has an identity: S/1L/46449.

But, registration is not all that can keep up the existing members renewing their membership all through and new ones become interested in getting the membership of EBRP. So, the EBRP got plan accordingly and got all of its members enrolled with its bank account. The aim has been very transparent- to raise funds, to advertise for their favorite club, to give boost to the playing morale, to attract more and more players and soccer fans towards their loved club and, a fortiori, to stand by the club at times of crises. Thus, EBRP became the first football fan club in India which has its own bank account, to which fans all across the globe can donate their share of any size to the well-being of the club.

EBRP Official Identity:

Plan for designing official identity for the members of EBRP had been on mind since its inception. The foreign fan clubs was the inspiration to such plan for creating official identity. In line with the plan, the EBRP introduced the first ever official fan jersey, cap, scarf, and wrist band, among others. You know how can these identities be effective? These can be sheer morale booster when members of such fan club gather in the gallery wearing identical club apparels and shout in chorus to cheer their ‘warrior on field’.  The louder the humming from the gallery stairs, the more spirited their footballers will be.

Spreading Territory:  

With a robust growth in India, the EAST BENGAL the Real POWER has started to amplify its numbers of enrollments. So, this fan club has decided to broaden its territory across all sections of the club fans, from all corners of the world. The idea may seem daring and challenging to some, but most of our members has extended their support to our new mission. From our current experiences, we have understood that the numbers of fans do matter for enhancing the confidence of our beloved players. When they come to know that they have more numbers of fans spread all across their country as well as the globe, they will be more gallant and that may help elicit their inner prowess more vibrantly.

It’s true that at the beginning the responses were very little. But soon we got larger response and enthusiasm from the community Members. In the fourth meeting we successfully gathered almost 500 REAL LIFE Members who expressed their urge to support EAST BENGAL and make our REAL LIFE Community larger. Now it’s a combination of Junior & Senior Members. We have Members who are still in their school going days with lots of enthusiasm in their eyes for our beloved club and our community. On the other side Senior Members with lots of experience in them are always with us to make our community stronger. Students, Servicemen, Businessmen all are now part of our community to convey their love to EAST BENGAL club.

Now-a-days we are not confined in to Orkut, every person who have love for EAST BENGAL has been welcomed by our community with the dream to be a unit, to be a strength to our players. EAST BENGAL fans from every corner of this planet are expressing their feelings for our club and support from our community. It’s our dream that one day it will be larger than our expectation because we believe that we can serve “EAST BENGAL CLUB” and “Football” as both are more than life to all of us.

EASTBENGAL the Real POWER - a Community established on the 15th of November 2006 in order to bring all the EASTBENGAL fans under one shed. Soon an astonishing idea came into our mind to transfer this ONLINE Community into a REAL LIFE Community. As said it has been done. A meeting was called for at Saltlake City Centre (Kolkata) on 14th January 07. But unexpectedly only few Members present that day.Soon after a Second Meeting was called for on the 25th of February 07 at the same place.Yah there of course we had gathering of more than 10 members. This number went on increasing with the meetings and as such the REAL LIFE members. Now till 2day Real POWER have more then 500 REAL LIFE Members….
